I have never been someone who loves being a stranger in a new place, but a few years ago I learned a lesson that really hit home. I was in a dangerous city for work, and I must have really stuck out like a sore thumb. I was robbed at gunpoint, and in my panic I asked the robbers why they chose me. They told me that they could tell I was from out of town, which made me stop and think about successful tourism.
